Episode 111: It's not you, its me
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Have you ever said, "It's not you, it's me?" Sometimes we use this phrase because we don't want to hurt the other person, right? But occasionally, it really is us. God sees everything we do and say. He tests our hearts and motives. When we're wrong, if we humble ourselves and let Him correct us, we can learn from our mistakes.
Will you allow God the opportunity to examine you today?
Listen, friend, if you do not know the Lord Jesus Christ and would like to give your heart to the Lord, allow me to walk you through the process. God sent His only begotten Son so none of us would perish, but have everlasting life. The Bible says, If we believe in our heart and confess with our mouth Jesus Christ is Lord, we are saved. Please do not think you need to get yourself together to come to the Lord. He simply desires your surrender, and your heart, and He will do the rest. Say, Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins. I believe You are the Son of God. Come into my heart and be Lord of my life. Show me how to live for You. In Jesus' name, Amen!
Congratations friend! Welcome to the kingdom of God if you said it with your whole heart.
If you gave your life to Christ, send me an email. I would like to pray for you as you continue your journey with the Lord.

Hey everyone, it's Authisa. Welcome to Sapphire Daily Prayer Meditation Podcast where I bring you a boost of encouragement using the power of prayer and the word of God. Let's get into it. Let's see what the Lord has for us today. Hey everyone, how are you? Welcome. Welcome in the room. I pray that you guys are doing well. I pray that you are having a fantastic day. I pray that your year is moving along well, right? I know it appears, I don't know about for you if you've noticed, how fast it is going. So I pray that your year is like, even though it feels like it's all steam ahead, that it's been going well, even in the hiccups that we've encountered so far, that we were able to handle them with grace and with God's mercy and strength, right? So I pray that you guys are doing well. We just finished celebrating Valentine's Day weekend. And I pray that you had a good weekend, even if you celebrated it by yourself, right? We have to love ourselves, so it's okay to treat ourselves to whatever it is that we desire someone else to do for us. We don't have to wait on someone else to do it. God has given us the ability, right, to celebrate ourselves because we love ourselves because Christ is in us. So I pray again that all is well. Okay, let's go ahead and jump straight into it. Let me ask you have you ever heard them say, It's not you, it's me? And usually when we hear that, it's usually in relationships, right? Like, oh no, it's not you, it's me. It's not you, it's me, right? To deflect to not make the person feel bad. But sometimes it really is us, right? Like, have you ever done something and like as soon as you did it or as soon as you said it and you said to yourself, Oh, I messed that up. I shouldn't have said it like that if I should have said it at all, right? Or maybe I shouldn't have did that. Has that ever happened to you? I know I can admit for me that it happened to me, right? Because I'm human and sometimes things get under our skin sometime, but we're still supposed to respond in love, right? And I know that for me, I am grateful, you know, for God for his grace and for his mercy. I'm grateful that when we do have those moments when we act in our flesh, that the Holy Spirit will check us, right? And so I thank God for that. That even though that he'll check us, which He which he does as a Father, He corrects us, yes, He does it as a father, and He even disciplines us, yes, as a Father, because that's His nature as a Father, and that is to correct us along the route, even in the subtle things. The Bible says those who he loves, He chastens, and it doesn't feel good in the moment, but it's so necessary, right? Because otherwise, we would be all over the place doing and saying things that do not align with the character of the One who is perfect. We're not called to be perfect, we're just called to follow the One who is perfect, right? And then to mirror Him as best we can in this earth suit, right? So in those times when we do that, when we speak or when we do things that are out of God's character, He gives us a moment to reflect, right? To think about what we said, to think about what we did, or think about what we didn't do that we should have done. And in that moment, He gives us a platform or an opportunity to repent, to do it in private because of who God is. He is just so kind, He's just so faithful, He's merciful, right? And so in that moment, He does a beautiful job of allowing us to repent, to to find grace, right, in that very moment. So thank God for the Holy Spirit who He gives us as an indicator when we're out of alignment, when we are doing things that are out of His character. And sometimes the person may or they may not have understood the jab, they may not have understood the insult, right? Maybe it went over their head, or maybe they're just used to people treating them a certain type of way, so they've become unfortunately accustomed to that kind of a treatment. But the beautiful thing is is that God does. God saw it, right? He sees our heart, He sees our motive, He sees the intention, He sees the manner in which we deliver it, right? He says that the heart is deceitfully wicked, who could but know it? God does, and that's the beautiful part that He sees everything, the things that we do in secret that no one else knows, He does. And as his children, He requires more for us, just as we as natural parents require things of our own children, right? We know our kids, we know when our children are taking shots at the other sibling, we know our children if they're acting up or doing certain things in school, or we know our children for the most part, right? Just as God does, and He knows it better because He created us, right? We were just the conduits for our children whom the Lord created. So God knows each and every one of us. And so He wants us to look like him, to act like Him, to talk like Him, even when it's times of uncertainty, even when it's times of irritability, even when it's in times when they are wrong and we are right, right? We still are required to look like Christ in all times. When we look at Jesus, He always mirrored God. He even said, I only say and do what my father does. And in times when He knew that they were trying to take jabs and trying to trick him, and certain times when they asked, He got quiet. He didn't say anything at all. So He put it back on them and allowed them to look silly in some instances, right? So we're required to look like him no matter what the circumstance looks like. And sometimes it's hard because the flesh does want to rule, the tongue does want to say what the tongue wants to say. But we have to learn as heirs and -joint heirs, to crucify this flesh and allow our spirit man to have more authority and dominion than our flesh, right? Because the flesh profits nothing according to the word of God. So we're to act like Him, even though the world may do what they do. We are kingdom, we are not culture, we are in this world, we're not of it. We are passing through, we are transient, right? So we're not to do things the way that the culture does them or the way that the world does it. We're not to look like those who have not surrendered and given their heart and their life to the Lord yet. And I always say yet, because at some point we didn't, right? So we've been entrusted to mirror Him. We've been entrusted to call upon Him and ask for help, right? And even in the times when we're not sure, we can even say, Lord, search our heart. God search my heart, right? Help me to look more and more like You. Help me to crucify this flesh that profits nothing, help me to lay aside the weight of sin that would so easily beset me, right? Help us to look more and more like you. Help us to remain faithful to your nature, help us to tame this tongue. There's a scripture that says, Lord, teach me where I have erred, right? Help me to hold my tongue. Just because people invite us to act a particular way that doesn't look like Christ does not mean that we have to accept the invitation, right? So God help us to be more and more like You. Help us not to be like the one that hid their talent, hid their gift. Help us to remain faithful, to walk with you, and to surrender our will to yours. So that as we surrender our will to You, that we're being made more and more like You. And surrendering to the Lord is a great thing. That means that He is the one steering, He's the one in control. And as we do that, we go through, we even have access to repentance. And repentance is a good thing, right? When it comes from the heart, because repentance is to acknowledge it and to turn from it, right? When it is from the heart, and God can work with that, God can work with who we actually are and not who we're pretending to be, right? Because He says that a broken and a contrite heart he will not ever despise. So, Father God, we just thank you today. We just bless you and we honor you. God, you are worthy of all the honor, the glory, and the praise. We understand that you are mighty, You are holy, and You are God, You are sovereign and everything that You do that God, whether it's good or bad, that we feel, God, we know that God, everything that You do is well. It is good. So, God, we just thank you for the opportunity to humble ourselves today, to seek first your kingdom, so that everything that we need, according to life and godliness, that God, that it has been given to us. God, we just come before you, oh God, asking that you would search our heart, Heavenly Father, for the things that are in there that we don't even realize that are triggered, that are pain points, that allow us to act or cause us to act ungodly, Heavenly Father. Cause us not to act like the nature and the character of the Holy Spirit, which in whom we house. God, we just thank You for the opportunity that, God, that we can lay aside the weight and the sin, Father, and the excuses as to why we act a particular type of way. God, you tell us to bridle our tongue. You said the tongue is the smallest member, but yet the most unruly. God, give us the understanding that no matter if anyone is around, that God, that you are the God that does not forsake us, you are a present help, not just in the time of trouble, but you never slumber nor sleep. Therefore, you see every action we do, the thought that we have, even in our heart, God, help us to align, God, to see people and circumstances and situations through your lens, Heavenly Father. God, we call upon You, Eliezer, the Lord God, our helper, that you will help us in the time of weakness. You are our strength in the time of weakness. So, God, we thank you that as we come before You, oh God, do a new thing in our heart today. God, we repent of the jabs and the slights that we have taken to not look like You, God. We repent when we went low when we should have gone high. We repent for the times that we should have bridled our mouth and did not say anything, but we choose to allow our flesh to speak. God, God, we repent for it in the name of Jesus. We ask for mercy, oh God, that mercy would triumph over judgment, that mercy would speak on our behalf in this moment, Heavenly Father. We are asking that, God, that You would order our steps, Heavenly Father. Give us the capacity in the name of Jesus to be silent before we speak, that we have the moment to think before we speak, think before we act, God, that we're not reacting, but we're acting according to the nature of the one who richly dwells on the inside of us. So, God, we thank You for your goodness. We thank You for your strength. Your word says we can do all things through Christ, who empowers us, who strengthens us, who embodies, who we embody, who we house. So, God, we thank you for it today, God. Thank you for being the glory and the lifter of our head. Your word says there is now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. Because we have repented, God, you have forgiven us, and it's as far as the east from the west. So we thank you, God, for a wisdom, understanding, knowledge, and even clarity on how to respond in those moments and situations. So, God, we thank you. Thanks be unto God who always causes us to triumph, even in hard times. So, God, we bless You and we honor You. It's in Jesus' name we pray. And Father, if there is anyone under the sound of my voice that does not know you as Lord and Savior, God, I pray that at the moment that You knock at the door of their heart, Your word says, harden not your heart at the day of visitation. God, I pray that at the moment that God that you knock, that they would open up and allow you access to them, oh God. Your word declares that if we believe in our heart, confess with our mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, then therefore we are saved. Jesus is the only way to the Father. So, Father, I pray that as you knock at the door of their heart, that God, as they say, Father, I repent of my sins, come into my heart, be Lord of my life. I believe that you sent your son Jesus to die for me. I receive Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Show me how to live for you. Teach me Your will and teach me Your way. It is just that simple, friend. If you said those words, you are now a son or a daughter of the Most High God. It is that simple. So, Father, we say thank you because all of heaven is rejoicing for that soul that has accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. God, I thank You for the helpers and the laborers from your kingdom that will show them how to live a life for You so that your kingdom can be established through them in the earth. So, God, we thank You for the hedge of protection that surrounds them in the name of Jesus. And we just lose the blood of Jesus to cover them, oh God, in the name of Jesus. Now that they are ambassadors of Christ. So, Father, we thank you. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen, amen, amen. Well, friends, thanks again for coming along with me on today's journey.
